I sent these for a Cristmas present to my youngest daughter. The color matches her kitchen and she loves them.
Sometimes, well maybe more often then not, Whimsically Bizarre Surrealism images turn out ugly in places? Personally, I love "ugly" as beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This painting has a very weird looking face but there is a very good reason for it. When I paint I don't always look for what is "beautiful". So is the case here. Birdie Kiss was so much fun to paint; it has many hidden images as does so much of my work. It's my first nighttime scene in my new Sea Monster collection. Obviously, there's a small bird kissing in this painting. Have fun finding it! -- jacabo
jacabo was born in Havana, Cuba but immigrated in the early 1950s to the United States, where he later became a citizen in New York at a young age.
