Description
The Black-Faced Vervet Monkey (Cercopithecus aethiopsis), also known as African Green Monkey, is one of the most common of the monkey species seen in Tanzania. It can be found in areas of woodlands, savannah, forest, bush and scrub. The male genitalia is very distinguishable by a brightly colored, powder blue scrotum. A troop of 20 Black-Faced Vervets occupied our lodge in Arusha, and continuously tried to sneak into our rooms, but were repeatedly discouraged by the staff.
This Black-Faced Vervet looking upwards was photographed on the grounds of the Arumeru Lodge, Arusha, in Tanzania, on 1-8-2016. I used a Nikon D810 camera body and a Nikon 500mm f/4.0E FL ED VR telephoto lens to capture this image.
I am honored that my photograph was featured in the Fine Art America groups:

Thank you Phyllis! While he looks like he's dreaming, I think that he was looking upwards at a pal on a higher tree branch!

What a precious image!!! Very nice composition! Fav

Thank you Kathy. I wonder if the Vervet was looking up into the tree at another Vervet, or at a fruit? The expression on its face seemed interesting to capture, and share.
