The lotus is a unique water plant. The lotus grows in very muddy water, the color of its flowers is very bright. The lotus consists of about 50 species scattered from the tropics to the subtropical regions throughout the world. As seen in this painting is one of the lotus species called "Nymphaea lotus" is originally from Egypt that blooms at night and buds in the morning, mostly found in cities garden throughout Indonesia especially in South Kalimantan which is usually called "The Land of Thousand Rivers".
