The white and lavender Rocky Mountain Columbine was designated the official state flower of Colorado in 1899 after winning the votes of Colorado's school children.
I have attempted to shoot these elegant flowers many times in the past, but for various reasons, rain, location, light, etc. I had not been able to get any decent shots until I went to American Basin in July this year.
