"Blue Jay Perch" by Patti Deters. he bright blue colors of this Blue Jay (Corvidae 'Cyanocitta cristata') caught my eye at a backyard bird feeding station near St. Paul, Minnesota. It was a cold winter day, and the bird was fluffing his feathers to keep warm. Blue Jays are ferocious at the bird feeders but they sure are pretty! The closeup photo of this one actually makes it look a bit regal and proud. Bokeh texture background applied for artistic effect. Hi! My artwork is photography of all things nature, especially wildlife, flowers, and landscapes. Many of the flowers and wildlife images are from my local area around Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Others are from photo trips taken with my husband of 40+ years. Some of the images are what I like to call "documentary art" - that is, I capture the best photos from wherever I am and then enhance them - sometimes a little, sometimes a lot - to make my own kind of "real life" art. Other images are more digital and simple, and those tend to portray the softer side of nature.
