The inspiration for this painting was from an incredible photograph taken by my friend Sharon Monroe from her back porch at her Colorado home, and she kindly shared it with me. I painted it as a tribute to the owl who nested near my window from last October through this past March. On Saint Patrick's Day, I had a dream that the owl flew out of his perch and came to sit next to me. His feathers were a luminescent, glowing blue and he had grown to the size of a small child. I was happy to have the opportunity to thank him for singing to me throughout the winter, and he replied, "It was my pleasure." The next day, the owl was gone. I guess he flew on to a new springtime home.
