"Blue Train" (2011)

In 2011 I started listening to jazz music after listening to a great local station. I started going to jazz clubs to feel the music and to get inspired. I wanted to capture the true feeling and apply them to my paintings. Listening to the masters I fell in love with artists and jazz legends like John Coltrane and Miles Davis. I decided to call this piece "Blue Train" to pay my respects to John Coltrane's 1957 album, Blue Train. Once I heard that track for the first time, I became a life long fan of jazz music.

As a child I drew every day in class. I feared running out of places to draw and materials to create art rather than getting in trouble for not paying attention.
