This is a painting from the 1980's. I remember stumbling across some photographs of bombed out buildings in Beirut and seeing abstract possibilities. I scanned the painting the other day and then decided to increase the contrast and boost the red.. in the original its almost orange. The red actually works better for me now, it strongly suggests the build is splattered with blood as it must have been. For me this is a good example of how you can improve on a work using digital software.

My next work of this genre is colour "bombs" landing in Monet's garden. I know Impressionism is deeply unfashionable at present, I think that's why I like it.
