One of the gardens from one of America's oldest working plantations. Boone Hall Plantation, is located in Mt Pleasant South Carolina near Charleston. It was founded in 1681 when Major John Boone came to Charleston and established a lucrative plantation and gracious home on the banks of Wampacheone Creek. The McRae family purchased it in 1955. This current plantation home was built in the 1930's replacing the original wooden home that was built in 1790.
