This is one of three pieces that I am adding to my collection. Once I have received the other two pieces I will be happy to provide a photograph of the display. The quality of the art piece is exceptional. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase even more pieces!

We were disappointed that the name of the artist is cut off and not showing in full. We feel the name of the artist is an important part of it and would love to have it rectified

We live in the desert so the Palm theme resonates. The color scheme is brilliant and perfect. We would like to see more from this artist. Where do we look?

Artist's Description

Boy with hypertrichosis. Artwork of sideshow circus exhibit Lionel the Lion-faced as a boy aged five. It is though that Lionel, real name Stephan Bibrowski (1891-1932) and born in Poland, had the condition hypertrichosis. Also known as werewolf syndrome, this rare condition results in excessive hair growth over most of the body. From the age of four to around ten, Lionel was exhibited in Europe. In 1901, he began touring with the Barnum and Bailey Circus in the USA. The text at bottom is in Italian, French, and German. This artwork was part of the human circus exhibits collections held at the Eugenics Record Office, Cold Spring Harbor, New York, USA.
