About De Es Schwertberger
Schwertbergers themes are in principal light and space, which lead through all his works. In the sixties he painted surreal, science-fiction sort of spaces and sceneries, which could be classified as Phantastic Realism. Starting from there, Schwertberger developed a unique pictorial language, which could be described as „Realistic Abstractionism“ During the late sixties Schwertberger lived in Switzerland, before he moved to New York. During 1986 he returned to Vienna. Even though his pictorial language underwent fundamental changes, he stayed always true to his basic theme: „...
