Description
The Marine had laid his instrument in the grass as he educated the Korean veterans and their families on the history of the Marine Corps Barracks in Washington, DC. We were honored to be guests of the USMC for the commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the end of the Korean War.
The bell of this flugelhorn reflects the USMC Barracks, the oldest post of the Corps. Its location was personally selected by Thomas Jefferson and Lt. Col. WW Burrows, 2nd Commandant of the USMC, for its proximity to the Navy Yard and because it was within easy marching distance to the Capitol.
