Description
Brush-tailed possum skull. Skull of a brush-tailed possum (Trichosurus vulpecula). The brush-tailed possum is a marsupial that is found throughout Australia, except for the extreme northwest, and Tasmania. It is a tree-dwelling creature that generally inhabits forests, but can also be found in urban areas, where it often builds its nest in roof spaces. It can reach 90 centimetres from nose to tip of tail. The majority of the brush-tailed possum's diet comprises leaves, shoots and fruits, but it may also eat insects, small birds and eggs.
