Congrats on your sale!!!!!!

Thank you Mel.

Well done, Paul ! Congratulations on your sale !!

Paul Mashburn replied:

Thanks Mel!

I know what you mean. As a young boy, my dad took me there to visit a family friend. I always thought about him and those I didn't know. It is sad. I worked for the Roane County NEWS...did you husband ever bring the paper to Kingston? We may have seen each other on one of those trips.

We were living in Lake City, TN at that time. My husband worked for the Town Crier. I remember driving down a steep winding road and seeing this sight. It was a depressing sight to see comeing down the Mt. I always felt bad for the people who had to work there. Good work, that was part of our US history for sure.

About Acrylic Prints

Acrylic Print with Mounting Posts

Mounting Option #1

Acrylic Print with Hanging Wire

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Love it! Somewhat highly reflective so consider the lighting when choosing a good spot for it

I love this one. I have lots of indoor plants, and got this to hang next to them. It's a wonderful picture, and great quality.

As a graduate of Hampton Institute (University), the Emancipation Oak holds a special place in my heart. I have purchased Mr. Gammon's wonderful photograph many times for my alumni chapter's annual silent auction, which support our scholarship efforts for students attending Hampton University.

Artist's Description

In 1973, I worked for a newspaper near the Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary (as it was called then). The prison was closed for several years during this time, so I was granted free run of the grounds. I took this series of 5 photos on this occasion. It was a very lonely place, except for a pet the inmates had kept inside the grounds. The deer was called Geronimo and was very friendly to humans. Geronimo almost scared me out of my wits on the pitcher's mound of the ball field when he poked my arm from behind! I have retouched these photos in an attempt to make them presentable. I took the original shots with a 35mm film camera and developed them myself. The years have not been kind to the originals, but I scanned them and worked some Photoshop magic on them. I think they may mean something to someone, and wanted to post them here for posterity. Hope you enjoy them.

About Paul Mashburn

I have always been intrigued with photography. I did sports, fashion, news, and wedding photography for a time, but even after I started a career where photography was no longer a part of the work, I kept firing away for personal reasons and to document my life. The photos came in handy for my personal blog http://mushysmoochings.blogspot.com. I still write there quite a bit, but documenting the theater restoration project keeps me pretty busy. I hope you enjoy my photos, because the process gives me great personal pleasure. Even if you don't buy, please leave a comment to keep driving me on!
