Description
The Paute Indians belieived that the strange red rock hoodoos that th dominate Bryce Canyon were Evil Legend People (To-when-an-ung) who were turned to stone by the powerful Coyote Spirit. I was at the canyon in late fall early winter when I took this photo. The Native Indian mythology behind many of our most beautiful places elevate the spiritual feeling in a way that geological or scientific descriptions fail to do.
