Thanks so much Lyudmila!!

Wow! Love it! - so weird to see this after I have such a similar stance and background in White Buffalo! How close were you to him?

Robert Bales replied:

Thanks for the good comment and I took it from the car and it was about 50 feet.

This was a gift to a person who is restoring a prairie. This year she has 14 herons gathering on the banks of the Little Sioux River. The tote bag was well received.

Artist's Description

A close up of a buffalo. The Yellowstone wild, free, roaming buffalo are a unique wildlife resource to Montana and the nation. Certainly we can fashion a Montana solution that shares the land with our buffalo and their annual movements without slaughtering them when they step into Montana. Buffalo provided food, clothing, and shelter for the Indians. They fed the explorer and railroad builder. Without the buffalo, the West would have been a land of starvation. It is only right that we make a permanent place for them in Montana, managed as wildlife.

About Robert Bales

I am a retired teacher, coach and athletic director. While my wife, Judy, and I were teaching she had a photo studio, and I had a dark room where I did black and white and color. Some was for the studio while most of it was just a hobby. When we retired in 2000, we sold our house in Eastern Washington and moved onto our boat, Last Class, and our motorhome. We sold Last Class a few years ago and bought a small house in Yuma, Arizona and bought another one in Emmett Idaho. Now we spend the summers in Emmett and the winters in Yuma. Over our 50 years of marriage, we have always had an interest in photography and both of us enjoy taking the photos for this site. http://www.pinterest.com/thecanonshooter/
