Acrylic on canvas 18x24" created in 2010.
Review by Nicola Porrill: Art doesn't come much more intense than this. The heat from the Burning Bush seems to radiate off the canvas; when it comes to combining the senses of sight, touch and even sound, Salvatore has done it again!
A real fiery feeling comes from the colours which have been used. Rich reds, oranges, yellows and blues abound; having the warm reds towards the top and the cooler blues beneath balances the piece out, ensuring that they subject does not become too hot to handle!
Having the black bursting forth from the centre of the piece gives extra dimension, as if the fire is not merely a flat image, but something real, reaching out towards the viewer. This effect is amplified by the fact that the red licks of flame are roaring upwards, extending beyond the top edge of the canvas. This gives a magnificent sense of the large size of the fire, making the piece feel all the more dramatic.
Review by Ashley Bunka: Salvatore's impeccable talents shine through in this dauntless painting. Rich with bold, deep colors and busy brush strokes, Burning Bush is an intense piece that demands attention. The cool tones on the bottom of the canvas are made of deep blues and subtle white markings that support a fierce and strong bush-like figure. The shape is ignited by a burst of bright colors as yellows, reds and oranges rise up from the bush in a dramatic, enticing flame. The extraordinary painting's strong markings and blend of colors create a powerful image that is both eye catching and emotional.
