Description
This piece is a photo of the first of a series of sculptures depicting a view of what thousands of Puerto Ricans, including my family, experienced after the devastation of Hurricane Maria of September 2017. The devastation left them to often seek dangerous sources of water.
Also, is the dichotomy of a Puerto Rican in a distinguished “Guayabera” getting dirty on his knees while still holding his Puerto Rican flag close.
Note highlighted red fragments of the native “Flamboyán” flower tree, a familiar Puerto Rican symbol.
