Seeing buttercups always takes my memories to the North. I can honestly say since I moved South, I have not seen a buttercup. Beautiful capture, it is so gentle and delicate.

Lois Bryan replied:

Thanks, Elaine!!!!! The buttercups, which are weeds, of course, were coming up right in front of a huge patch of coreopsis that hadn't bloomed yet ... so they made for a fun bokeh. Glad you liked it.

Tote Bag Reviews (1512)

Average Rating (5 Stars):

The quality of the bag was pretty bad, to the point where I'm a bit embarrassed to give it to my mum for Christmas. It's all rough and flaky - it feels like it's about to fall apart.

I love his work! Don’t hear or see any references to Icarus ... and this is so clever.

Artist's Description

The tiniest, arguably most insignificant of the flowers Mother Nature offers up for our enjoyment. Appearing as mere yellow peeps on the roadsides. Unimportant. They come and go without our adult eyes even seeing them, most of the time. They're stepped on and ignored. Ahh ... but think back ... to childhood. Those days when our eyes were a bit closer to the ground, and when they didn't need glasses to see the unique striations in a rock, or the veins in the petals of a flower. Remember those days? Remember, also, holding the open buttercup under the chin of your true love to see if they liked butter. Remember that? We're talking about a gutsy move, now, at 7 or 8 years old. True love was a pretty big deal ... and getting that close ... well. And all on the excuse of a buttercup ... "Let's see if you like butter." Oh those walks home from school on a warm spring afternoon. Oh those buttercup babies!!! 7978
