Description
I was in my garden chasing after butterflies when I saw two bumblebees enjoying the same beautiful Gay Feather flower. As soon as I got my camera up to my eye, one bumblebee said to the other, "Buzz off!" and away the other flew!
Liatris spicata, is commonly called dense blazing star or prairie gay feather, is an herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the sunflower and daisy family Asteraceae. It is native to eastern North America where it grows in moist prairies and sedge meadows.
Bees are the most important pollinators in most ecosystems. Without them, food wouldn't grow. Two-thirds of the world's crop species depend on animals to transfer pollen between male and female flower parts. So When you see a bee, please don't say, "buzz off!" Say; "Thank you!"
Thank you so much for looking at my images. I appreciate that very much.
I am very concerned with our environment and have decided to donate any money I make from any sales of this image to the ENVIRONMENTAL DEFENSE FUND.....because the Earth needs a good lawyer! We all need to speak up and support efforts to protect our environment. We will not get a second chance!

A fantastic and crystal clear macro capture! And on such a beautifully colored flower! I used to be terrified of bees, but for years now since photographing butterflies and such, I see how calm and busy they are and will often try to capture them as well. You have such a wonderful gallery!
