These lilies in our rock garden have been eaten every year by deer. This year I think I finally out-smarted the deer by putting a tall 4 ft.metal cage over top of the clump in early spring. Then I tied a black net securely around the cage - you could barely see it but I'm sure it frustrated a lot of deer who could not eat these tasty morsels. I am thrilled that the lilies actually got to bloom fully this year. Although, from a distance the net is barely visible, I removed it for this photo.
