Lovely painting of Magpie. Really brings out his cheeky spirit. Looks like he is about to burst into song!

This has certainly brightened my evening

Wow Jolanta your words are beautiful. We have lots of magpies in our area which i am very happy about. Spring time is a little hard and one needs to keep an eye on the females as they become so protective of their young. They are excellent mothers. Everything you have said certainly applies to our magpies.

If I ever had to come back to this life as a bird...I would be a magpie for certain...In England where I lived for almost 30 years...I was surrounded by them...love the birds! Here in Canada...I have yet to see one...I miss them. What a treat for me this is Carol...thank you... The ancient Roman's viewed the magpie as a creature of high intellect and reasoning powers. She is also an attribute of Bacchus, the God of wine, Chinese regard this bird as a good omen and symbol of good luck..and heir traits are:opportunistic intellect, perceptive, flashy, refined, communicative, social, deceptive, illusion, expressive, willful Beautifully expressed work Carol...you have made my day! f/v

Carol!! This is a fantastic bird painting! These birds are so enjoyable! V/F

Bob they are wonderful birds and thanks for visiting and commenting

Wow, now I've seen a real Magpie. We've always called black beef with white faces, (black angus/hereford white face crosses), Magpies. I knew it was for a blackbird, but I had not actually seen a Magpie. Thank you so much. I love the texture in the background. Watercolor on canvas is something I enjoy. Voted and Favorite!

Carol McLagan replied:

Thank you Susan. I love magpies, they have such a beautiful song and I enjoy sitting in the backyard listening to them

Carol, this is gorgoeus! This is one bird to my knowledge that we do not have in Arizona...all over Utah and they are very smart! Beautifully done my friend!
