Art Shimamura is a Professor Emeritus of Psychology, University of California, Berkeley and a world-renowned expert on human memory and the brain. Throughout his career, Art has indulged his creative side through the art of photography. He has exhibited works at the Townsend Center for the Humanities (Berkeley, CA), the 2014 Biannual Congress of the International Association on Empirical Aesthetics (New York, NY), and the 2016 Mirrors of the Mind exhibition (Art Share, Los Angeles, CA).. In 2008, he was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship to explore links between art, mind, and brain. He is author of Experiencing Art: In the Brain of the Beholder and the satiric novel, State of the Arts.
