I got so many comment about this when I had it framed! I am working on living in New York for a few months and this is keeping me going until I get there! Sorry the photo is so bad - the light was on it.

Going to put it the front of a small cupboard door...

Good print. However I would have preferred it to be mailed flat. I want it to stay flat but it keeps rolling on me since it was in a tube. I put some heavy books to try to flatten it.

Hey, i was about to purchase the metal option, but the price with shipping would have been nearly $500 more...If you are willing to work on the cost there, I might upgrade. I also was considering getting embellishments, but guessing you don't do that on posters. Contact me if you are willing to work on the pricing. Otherwise I am stoked...this is my birthday present to myself.

I love everything I bought. But make sure you indicate the prices are in American Dollars. I thought I was buying that poster in Australian dollars .. from 61 $. I ended paying $112. nearly double !!

Artist's Description

I started this painting on the 5th of October, 2007 and finished it on the 30th of October, 2007. It is an oil on canvas and measures 70cm x 100cm. This is the fourth time I have painted the Callas and the difference between this one and the others is that the lines here are now cleaner and the colours are stronger. Thanks to subjects like this my art is often compared to that of Georgia O'Keeffe. I take this as a compliment because she was truly a great artist and I suppose that in some way I am inspired by her. However, since I consider myself a Byzantine artist I concentrate more on the spiritual aspects and less on the sensual as she did. There is an obvious erotic element in the Callas, but I compare my painting of it to another of my paintings which is a Byzantine Icon called ?Mother-Love? in which two spirits are clearly represented, and for me so does this Callas.

About Marinella Owens

Marinella Owens

Biography The art and talent of Marinella Marinella paints both Greek Icons and beautiful oil-on-canvas paintings of flowers using lush and vibrate colours. Born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1975, her Greek and Italian origins represent her major influences, a Greek sense of beauty and religious faith together with a deep felt sensibility for the Italian Renaissance painters. Drawing since her early childhood, at the age of 15 bought her first canvas and oils. In 1998 moved for two years to Hania, a town on the Greek Isle of Crete, there she studied the art of Greek Icons in a convent. Consequently decorated a small chapel on the outskirts of Hania with superb Icons, clearly demonstrating her natural talent for colour. On her...
