Artist's Description
Sandhill Cranes gather in the fields and marshes throughout southwest Wisconsin. This watercolor was done from an onsite photograph and drawing. The cranes are very animated in the fall as they prepare for their journey south.
About Vicky Lilla
Vicky Lilla is a working artist with a studio in southwest Wisconsin. While living in Wisconsin Vicky became fascinated with the local landscape, rural buildings and regional wildlife especially the native sand hill cranes and the endangered whooping cranes. Her work is included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States. Artist Statement A successful watercolor painting expresses organic fluid movement and a natural energy created by glowing layers of transparent paint. I strive to achieve this purpose as well as an individual edge on realism in my landscape, nature, still life and portrait paintings.
