This is a painting of the artists' adorable rescued cat, Calvin Klein who passed away in 2006.

Phillis is a self taught artist who has been involved in art basically since grammar school. The first memory of creating art comes from a chalkboard drawing in her grammar school when she was about eight years old. The next few years she produced pencil drawings, charcoals and pastels. Most of her early works were for family and relatives. Upon graduating high school, Phillis went directly to work for South Central Bell which has evolved to AT&T presently. She worked there for thirty years but continued to paint as a hobby during that time. After retiring in 1995, she began to do more paintings and specialized in portraits.
