This is a great picture. Shout out to John Boyd on his photography. The mig of this however is blurry and I’m disappointed. The original picture is not blurry, so I’m not sure why the print is.

This mug came out great. It’s a gift for my Dad. Thank you John Boyd and fine Arts America.

I love the mug because of the photo, the color I chose and the mug size. The only negatives are that while I knew the photo was small, it's a little too narrow. I have a Marilyn mug that I did not buy online, and it spans the entire mug as two copycat photos. Also, the inside of the mug is not smooth as most mugs are. Otherwise, it's fine, as is its price.

Nice but picture is too narrow to be viewed properly

Artist's Description

Polarized light photomicrograph of a crystallized alcoholic solution. "There was a penetration of the light into solid substance so that I seemed to see into things, deep in...". John Steinbeck was not thinking of rocks when he wrote this sentence in "Travels with Charley - In search of America". However, his feeling exactly reflects what people should think when looking at photomicrographs of crystals such as in this reportage on a special sample crystallized alcoholic sulution. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is an unusual reportage that discloses the secret, marvelous world hidden within crystals. I will show how they look like when they are seen from within and with the help of a polarizing microscope. The subject chosen for this reportage is an alcoholic solution that is also used as an aperitif. When it crystallizes, the solution creates feather-looking crystals that typicallu arrange in radiating aggregates, forming fan-looking textures with colors that recall a kaleidoscope...

About Bernardo Cesare

"There was a penetration of the light into solid substance so that I seemed to see into things, deep in...". John Steinbeck was not thinking of rocks when he wrote this sentence in "Travels with Charley - In search of America". However, his feeling exactly reflects what people should think when looking at rock photomicrographs such as in the micROCKscopica galleries. I am a Geologist at the University of Padova, Italy. I work with rocks and make extensive use of micro- and macrophotography to describe the subjects of my studies and their morphological features. As a photographer with artistic intent, my rock photomicrographs have been displayed in photo galleries, at mineralogical and scientific exhibits and in Natural Sciences...
