Bocce of course! I am very familiar with the location as well, as my parents were born and raised in Corona c 1915 and 1924. My dad had the billiard parlor across the street from the lemon ice king, across from Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. As a child I remember going to the feast, and once or twice got to visit "the pool room" which my dad closed @ 1960's. Everywhere we went our whole lives, my dad ran into someone he knew from the neighborhood, even when we went to Montreal Canada one summer! I love your paintings Mr Finnell! I read about you on on forgoten-ny.com/neighborhoods/corona. When I looked at your paintings of Corona on your angelfire gallery, I just HAD to search for you in order to contact you and say how much I enjoy your deptictions of my parent's and grandparent's old home town. I do a lot of ancestry research and that's what has driven me to research more of Corona, though I was also raised in Flushing and there was a house on Otis Ave which only changed hands in the 1990's after my Grandmother passed away. My families are the Cestares of Otis Ave, and the DeSalvo's on Martense. Thank you again for your wonderfully enjoyable artwork! My parents got married in St. Leo's church, and I was christened there as well. It's wonderful to see paintings of places you hold dear in your heart. Thanks so much!
