Alberta is a province of western Canada, on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains, bordering Montana (USA) to the south, British Columbia to the west, the Northwest Territories to the north and Saskatchewan to the east. She joined the confederation in 1905.
Alberta, located in Western Canada, covers an area of 661.190 km². To the south it borders the US state of Montana along the 49th parallel, to the east it borders the province of Saskatchewan along the 110th meridian.
