I painted it mostly with a palette knife on the front side of the clear plexiglass and then with a paintbrush on the backside of the plexi. It was so difficult that I never attempted it again...but the depth was beautiful. In many ways it reminded me of glaze on pottery, as the transparent plexi gave depth.
