The Beal Botanical Garden Botanical Gardens are primarily laid out in a flat u-shape under the Michigan State University Library and bordered on the north by a rise in the land with Circle Drive on top, and on the west by IM Sports Circle. They also stretch along the Red Cedar River to the east but mostly to the west in the shadow of the IM Sports Circle building. I particularly like the portions along the IM Sport circle building. I suppose because they are primarily planted with flowers. My favorite is a tiny little triangle contained by the building, the river, and road over the river leading to Sparty. There is always an interesting collection of flowers in that triangle. Sometimes similar from year to year, but often very different. Of late years canna have dominated.
