Carmel View Point Lobos.Carmel Beach. Carmel-by-the-Sea often simply called Carmel is a city in Monterey County, California, United States, founded in 1902 and incorporated on October 31, 1916.
Situated on the Monterey Peninsula, Carmel is known for its natural scenery and rich artistic history. In 1906, the San Francisco Call devoted a full page to the "artists, writers, and poets at Carmel-by-the-Sea"
In 1910 it was reported that 60 percent of Carmel's houses were built by citizens who were "devoting their lives to work connected to the aesthetic arts- it's a pretty place!
Luisa Millicent is a professional watercolor artist and illustrator, her background is in the world of film and advertising. She worked for many years in London as a commercial artist and colorist before moving to Los Angeles to do the same. In the last few years she swapped the bustle of the city for the more tranquil Santa Monica Mountains where she now concentrates on her watercolor paintings of the canyons, hills, and highways of the mountain area and Malibou Lake.
