The icons along our National Mall served as the backdrop for my first career in Washington, DC. Now they are some of the photographic subjects for my second career. I specialize in the DC region, the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast, with other excursions near and far. My work has appeared in magazines, travel guides, textbooks, newspapers and other media, and now I am making selections available for art prints. The first galleries are my own subjective selections--my Top 100 photos and Top 50 art from photos. The next galleries are my photos in various categories. The final galleries are my "Art from Photos", with digital manipulations of selected photos. Zoom in to see the effects. CONTACT ME if there are related images you would like...

This is a beautiful place to visit and you should read up on the history of how this came to be. It's really is quite a story. If it were not for an artist name William Cochran I really don't believe the rebuilding of this area of Fredrick Maryland would not be what it is today. For more information I wrote a tribute blog post about this artist who I have had the honor of sitting with in one of his classes and it turned out to be one of the most inspirational artistic experiences of my life. There are three 10 minute videos that really must be seen. I do hope you view these. As William and his wife Teresa are remarkable for what they had endured for this 5 1/2 year project called "The Community Bridge" http://art-faux.com/ask-an-artist/faux-reviews/trompe-loeil-inspiration-william-cochran-community-bridge/
William Kuta replied:
The bridge you refer to is remarkable. I have photos of it but have not put any on FAA as I don't feel I have done it justice yet.
