Another large painting in my ongoing cow series. These twin longhorn calves are from a herd in south Texas. I like to challenge myself in these compositions to break some rules and get away with it. In this one, using two separate photos, the design process led to these two little ones' heads lining up perfectly, so I thought, "Why not? they are twins after all." The sunlight and shadows still lead the day.
