Using as a wallet
Those that follow me on Flickr and Facebook may recall this view. I've been shooting it now for a few months, and though I've probably shot from this same spot a dozen or more times I've only posted a couple and those were nothing special. My vantage is from the rooftop of my physical therapist apartment. I've been seeing him for Plantar Fasciitis symptoms I began having about a year ago and I finally was able to time my appointment with a nice sunrise.
Brad, my therapist, is a big fan of my photography and several photo's hang in his office in Westminster. So as the sessions went on our discussions would always talk about current photography efforts and several times he offered to let me on his roof as he always talked up the view. So, a couple months ago I took him up on his offer, with the understanding that if I catch a winner I'll give him a copy. After that first time, every morning before my appointment I'd show up about an hour before sunrise and wait and see....
I've had the photography bug since 10 years of age, but only recently found a refined passion in landscape photography. There's something about getting out when most others are sleeping and capturing a scene bathed in glorious sunrise color or star filled skies which makes the effort seem as though it's not even there. For me, the fact that others find these efforts desirable enough to purchase adds a another level of satisfaction and reward.
