Great professional work. Thanks
This is another painting I did during my wild color period of 1977. I was exploring working with intense hue color and value at the same time. I worked on this painting during the earlier years of my painting program at Massachusetts College of Art. I was still enthralled with fantasy-like painting and it was also the times when a lot of experimentation was being done in my art world. In Art history I was just beginning to study European architecture and the Cathedrals of Europe were captivating. I was amazed at the scale, so in this work there are a few figures suggested and the church entrance.
I do not know where this painting is now, but I had a slide left of it in my old archives and I scanned that to share the image with you. This predates the digital era for sure.
The painting followed suit with my other work as it was fairly large. I was painting much larger back in those days.

Nancy, I love your 'wild color period' here. 1977 and this exciting time is really ringing true in this wonderful scene of this magnificent cathedral. European architecture was a favorite of mine too. The essence of both mystery and spirituality are so evident here. Wonderful work. F/L.
Nancy Griswold replied:
As always Randy, thank you ever so much for such a nice comment

I love this!!! You are an awesome painter! Maybe I am just in the mood for color right now as the world is gray around me here in upate NY, but I truly do love color and this in no way to me feels "dated". FAV
