The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Artist's Description
This agave plant in Toronto's Allan Garden greenhouse has grown right through the roof. It flowers only once in its lifetime and then it dies. This specimen has been waiting 75 years to bloom. It's a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. Native to more tropical climates, like Mexico, the plant flowers more frequently there ... every 40 or 50 years. The stalk measures about 4.6 meters from the base. In anticipation of its imminent death, new offshoots are already beginning to grow near the base -- We just have to wait 75 years for any action.
