Ceres topography. Colour-coded satellite image showing the relative highs and lows of the surface of the minor planet Ceres. Ceres is the largest object in the asteroid belt, which lies between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Here, the colour scale extends from around 7.5 kilometres below the surface (indigo) to 7.5 kilometres above the surface (white). Imaged by NASA's Dawn space probe.
