It would not be entirely accurate to say that I returned to Budapest only to take this photo of Buda Castle and the Chain Bridge, but it wouldn't be that far off! In the fall, it was evidently still the cruise boat season, and one unnamed cruise line which cruises the Danube took up the entire bank of the river at this location with their long boats so that pedestrians and photographers could not get an unobstructed view. Lucky for me, no one wants to go cruising in February so the view was unobstructed! This has to be one of the most beautiful sights in...dare I say it....all of Europe, the UNESCO World Heritage area along the banks of the Danube River in Budapest. If you arrive before sunset, you watch the sun set and the light fall. Then in one great synchronized movement soon after official sunset, the lights on the bridges and historic buildings come on all at once!
