About Amy Jayne Roper
I was born in 1983 in England and moved to New Zealand in 1995. I graduated from Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design in 2002 with a BFA in fashion, and after a stint of travelling and living again in England for 8 years, I returned New Zealand; my happy place. I discovered my love of painting when I was travelling through Europe. The ever changing landscape and culture evoked such a sense of wonder and magic that I needed to find a way of "bottling" that feeling in a way that my camera couldn't.
