A Buddhist monk, sitting in meditation among the stately redwood trees and primeval ferns. The forest has been transformed into the chakra spectrum of the rainbow, each chakra glowing with a radiant sun or moon. Inspired by a visit to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Santa Cruz, California.
About Laura Iverson
I have been painting most of my life. Much of my inspiration comes from the beautiful natural landscape of the wst coast...the woods, the ocean, the rolling hills, the native wildflowers and wildlife. Even the surreal tree branches in the Zen series are often taken from the gnarled old oak trees I see on my walks. Other inspirations include teapots (I love tea) and animals, especially cats.
