Beautiful… exactly what I was looking for. Only thing is on the side of the gold frame some of the gold is missing and there was a fingerprint in the gold!

About Dan Nance

Dan Nance, a native Carolinian, has been fascinated with history all his life. Coming from a rich and storied heritage, he developed a passion for history from an early age. Visiting American Civil War battlefields instilled not only a deep respect, but an even deeper desire to tell those stories, both famous and anonymous. By honing his natural artistic talent and synthesizing that with his love for dramatic cinema, Nance was able to interpret what he saw and read to create profound images of American history. “I strive to paint the truth from the perspective of the soldiers who witnessed it- each painting a monument to our history and a testament to our future.” Winning a full scholarship to prestigious New York art school,...

I was born in South Carolina. My father [a "Yankee"] always taught me [the "Little Rebel"] that that flag stood for rebellion against tyranny and oppression. Also, my father used to join the local black fishermen [in the late 1950s and early 1960s] on the Grand Strand and help them pull in their huge, heavy fishing nets while I awaited fresh seashell finds. Dad also sometimes enthusiastically attended the black churches in the area, joined in with the ecstatic holy roller black spiritualism and told me to always respect others no matter their race or socioeconomic status. The latter admonishment has protected me on numerous occasions.
