Description
Savannah Georgia
Constructed in 1847 and was one of the last Squares in Savannah to be laid out.
Named after William Pitt, the First Earl of Chatham. The county that Savannah resides in, Chatham County is also named after the Earl.
The old oaks give the Chatham Square a lot of character, and important on those hot summer days, a lot of shade.
This square is about the Live Oaks. A cool place to take a quick walk and enjoy the beauty of the Savannah Southern Charm. The morning light can be seen flowing through the image illuminating patches of trees and green grass. One Live Oak in particular seemed to capture the true essence of the park. With its gnarly branches woking their way through the dense canopy to find its place in the park.
