Description
Sometimes when I'm walking in the wildflower preserve behind my home in Wisconsin, I see a tableau of more than one flower that grabs my fancy. This is one. The bright blue chicory with its cheery radiating blue petals, its beautiful blue and white striped filaments leading to the pollen soaked anthers, is surrounded by a green vine, its curling tendrils reaching out to grab something, From the vine grow these colorful red or pink colored flowers, which someone identified for me as sweet pees. The bright colors are accentuated by thee deepnes of the shadows behind these colorful flowers. In the background, you can see some buds about to open.
In this macro photograph, you can even see some of the small white grains of pollen laying on the petals if you look closely.
