About Lee Bowerman

Lee Bowerman

Feb 20, 1943 to Oct 30, 2021 Lee studied with The Famous Artists School by correspondence while in the US ARMY in the early 60's, studied at Mesa College in Grand Jct., CO., and attended the Rocky Mountain School of Art in Denver. He taught art at RMSA for a while, then returned to sign painting, which dominated the early bulk of his work. He did advertising art, architectural rendering, and painted an occasional mural or wall graphic. In the 80s, Lee moved back to Grand Jct., where he expanded his sign painting skills, including pictorial billboards. He began painting murals for a couple of local interior decorators and painted landscapes, portraits, and caricatures. He illustrated a couple of books, including a series of cartoons for...
