Many thanks, Lena, much appreciated.

I am courious which comes first the painting or the poem ;-))Susan

RC deWinter replied:

99.9% of the time the painting. I have only done a few pieces that were created for a poem. I wish I could afford to publish the poems and art together, but you know the prohibitive cost of quality art repro. And I won't put out shoddy work!

Regina, the bare soft colored landscape linked to a poem with such deep soul inspection is evoctive . The lake is so deceptivly inviting. And you captured the secret of that lake and the silence of its' menace soooo incredibly!!!It is amazing to me how you were able to bring the spin tingling chill of the lake , to the reader with your words -As I have repeatedly said your latest work should be published in a book.FAV tw

RC deWinter replied:

I so appreciate not only your encouragement, but that you GET it. My paintings are wonderful prompts for the writing, evoking metaphors, memories, enabling me to weave words plucked from my heart as well from the air. Thank you, Susan.

There is something related to the memory and power of place there. The mystery evoked by your colors palette. Fabulous !

RC deWinter replied:

I appreciate the kind words and your visit, thank you, Catherine

Even without the leaves and green this feels welcoming. Perhaps the soft warm tones of the sky, or the lovely blue water? The light reflected on the water is beautiful Gina. And your poem... wow. So powerful. I could feel that pit in my stomach at the end. Marvelous descriptions and brilliant analogy. You struck a chord there. Beautifully done! l/f!

RC deWinter replied:

Thanks so much, Meg. It's a sombre painting overall...nothing splashy and particularly eye-catchiing, but I'm happy it speaks to you.

Gorgeous painting and scene. I love the trees and the sky in this. The poem is fabulous as well. I love your wit and descriptive abilities.

RC deWinter replied:

I have no wits left, Bunny...LOL and thank you.

I love, love this somewhat brooding and moody sky and landscape. This is from dreams I know I have had and been to. F/L

RC deWinter replied:

If the Wicked Witch of the West lived on a lake it would be right here, I think. Thanks so much, Randy.
