Loved this onesie. Actually loved it so much I contacted the designer and had a special request to see if he could change the color of the FJ40 to match a friend of mines actual truck and he was more than willing to do it. So I ordered another onesie.

Artist's Description

Chill Wills appeared with John Wayne in "Alleghany Uprising," "The Alamo" and "McLintock." Before entering pictures he had been the lead singer in "Chill Wills & His Avalon Boys." He is in the lower right of the frame in this musical number in "Way Out West" (1937) starring the incomparable Laurel & Hardy. He performed Stan's bass singing although his mouth does not move at the finale of the song. Oliver Hardy acted with Duke 12 years later in "The Fighting Kentuckian." {NOTE: This photo of Chill Wills (with his hair dyed blond) dates from January 1971, as seen on a porch at Old Tucson, also used in Bud Boetticher's 1958 "Buchanan Rides Alone," with Randolph Scott. In 1961 Chill appeared in Sam Peckinpah's "The Deadly Companions," parts lensed only a block away at Old Tucson. The cinematographer was William Clothier who was the director of photography on "The Alamo" and numerous other John Wayne and John Ford films.} @2013 David L...

About David Lee Guss

David Lee Guss

I first became obsessed with photography and motion pictures while growing up in post WW2 Manila in the Philippine Islands in the late 1940's/early 1950's. Film noirs were a particular influence. In 1979 I earned a MA in drama from the University of Arizona; earlier getting a BA in English from the University of Minnesota, where I co-founded the first film society on campus and ran it for four years. While at the U of A, I studied with the master black and white photo essayist W. Eugene Smith (1918-1978) the last year of his life. I am the last person cited in Jim Hughes' definitive biography of Gene, as I wrote about attending his final...
