Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Constantin!

Beautiful work!! f/l This is an absolutely great piece of art!!

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Lee! I appreciate the encouraging words!

As a piano player I found this image very scary (ha) but wonderfully twisted and amusing. Great work.

Ken Powers replied:

Thanks Ken! This one has a bit of my twisted sense of humor creeping through!

Oh wow, that gave me a chill down my spine when I looked at this! =)

Ken Powers replied:

Thanks Angelina! Makes you want to rethink piano lessons doesn't it!

Forget the piano.. everybody wants to learn THE MUSICAL SAW! a great depiction of rarely appreciated instrument. vf

Ken Powers replied:

Thanks Olaf! I appreciate the support!

Great composition, mystery...I love all of the neutralized colors in your work, so nice to look at!!

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Sheri! I used all 18th century reproduction natural pigment paints for most of this series.

Ken, Oh My Goodness.. Outstanding work! Excellent use of color.. You are a Master at watercolors! fav.vt

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Chrisann! This has always been one of my favorite pieces.

COOL! V

Ken Powers replied:

Thank you Nancy!

Excellent perspective view..nice overall effect ...!!

Hello Ken ! I saw your pic on Facebook today and came over to see what you've been up to. I really like this piano scene.......shows lots of creativity and talent ! You are assembling an "original body of work," and I foresee success for you. Your friend, Larry

Of course I just love the perspective of this piece...love the play in the title...provocative to say the least....but I especially lappreciate the hinge of the piano. Super nice!!!!

Beautifule work Ken.

Wow! Love this. The textures, reflections, composition. All great.

Ken, your amazing artistic talent and great sense of humor go together very well. Your fan, Anne

Oh, My! This painting really struck an emotional chord OUCH! since I have been procrastinating having my piano tuned and it is beginning to be painful to play it of late. I put it off because it is an extra expense, but it just can't wait any longer. This painting seems both comical and a bit bizarre in an amusing way. Your skills at eliciting an emotional response in all your paintings shows the depth of your skills. I am fascinated with the number of your paintings that show doors, locks, keys, doorknobs. I appreciate your comments on my rose painting. Thanks, Ken. Marsha

This is the most wonderful visual pun--not to mention a fine painting.

Ken Thank you for your comments. This work is very lovely. Just perfect!

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

Stunning artwork. The colors are very vibrant. I get compliments on this piece all the time. I was worried it wouldn’t be as pretty post purchase verses viewing online but this exceeded my expectations!

Where is this? It has not even shipped yet!

September 18th, 2018

Ad said it has a hanging wire, it doesn’t. Has a big chunk of wood glued to the back with a hanging bracket. Acrylic distorts the picture in my opinion.

This rating is for Fine Art America only. Not the artist. I received this print on acrylic. It shows to have a silver back ground, but it was green-ish in real life. That didn't work for me so I needed to send it back. It cost me $32 to have it shipped, but $96....yes, NINETY SIX dollars to have it sent back. Fine Arts could have had a pre-printed label from their corporate account (like Amazon does) for it to be shipped back and then that ($32) amount deducted from my refund. They did not. So, basically I paid $120 to get a product that did not match the print online. Therefore, I will NEVER shop at Fine Art America again AND will warn everyone I know to beware.

I have seen this in person many times. I thought it would be nice to have a picture of it. I am so glad I got this.

Artist's Description

Everyone has seen the paintings of the roses on a piano keyboard symbolizing romance, etc... But, does this really motivate a child to practice. I don't think so. Driven by humor, this piece was originally going to be titled "I thought I told you to practice." After running the idea past a friend of mine, he suggested calling it "Chopstix." Although, he wanted me to add a couple severed fingers to the piece which is not really my style. I opted to leave the fingers out of the painting despite his insistence. The piece is painted with 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.
