Christmas in July - Annual summer event at Nubble Lighthouse
Every summer for approximately 1 week the lights at Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine are turned on. The timing of the tides was perfect with the amount of light after sunset to allow this single image capture. Taken earlier the decorative lights would not have been as prominent. Taken later the lighthouse would have overpowered the image or the water and foreground would have been in the shadows and not allowed this to be a single image. This is a 30 second exposure causing the rough surf to smooth out into a soft exposure.
