Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) is the location of the world's first parliament, which was founded in the year 930. Today it's Iceland's most famous national park, and part of the Golden Circle, the Iceland tour for beginners. The park is right on the main fault line between the European and American continent.
A winter view of the church in Thingvellir turns almost automatically into a Christmas card.
